Booze and Spaghetti

“In other countries, art and literature are left to a lot of shabby bums living in attics and feeding on booze and spaghetti, but in America the successful writer or picture-painter is indistinguishable from any other decent business man…”
— Sinclair Lewis, in Babbitt

What do we think? Lewis is:

A.) Cautiously optimistic
B.) Spot on
C.) Obviously already forgetting his booze and spaghetti days
D.) Yearning for his booze and spaghetti days (It’s like Biggie said, “Mo money, mo problems”…)
E.) Any or all of the above (This trick I learned from my Developmental Psych class.)

(Lastly, Notorious BIG and Sinclair Lewis in the same post = hot ticket.)
